James Yap reacts to the engagement of Kris Aquino, his ex-wife.
KRIS AQUINO – Famous television personality Kris Aquino gets engaged and this is what her ex-husband James Yap said about it.
Mel Senen Sarmiento is the secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) under late President Noynoy Aquino, brother of Kris Aquino, who, according to them, is their matchmaker in heaven. They met each other because of him and got reconnected because of him. Because of the nonstop quarantine, Kris shared that she got closer to him and she also got the chance of knowing him better.

In a previous article, as she announced her engagement, she happily expressed that she is looking forward to becoming a Sarmiento. Fellow celebrities of Kris commented on her announcement and relayed to her their joy over this new chapter in her life.
And embarking on a new life with someone who her sons approved of and who stood up for her, James Yap reacted. The PBA superstar was asked about his ex-wife’s engagement and he only has a brief and direct statement about it as per PEP: “Happy for her.”
James’ current partner is Michela Cazzola, with whom he has children with namely Michael James at Francesca Michelle.
Meanwhile, Bimby, his son with Aquino, approved Sarmiento. Bimby expressed that he loves her without any agenda when asked about what he likes about him and added, “You can really tell he wants to take care of you, me, and kuya. And basically I can tell that when he looks at you his eyes twinkle twinkle. You can feel he genuinely loves you, mom.”
To recall, it was July 2005 that James and Kris tied the knot five months after dating each other and they were blessed to have Bimby. Due to marital issues, their marriage got officially annulled in January 2012.
