Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres Claims “War on Drugs” of President Duterte is Successful
Showbiz couple that turned into politicians Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez said that the “war on drugs” of President Rodrigo Dutrete was successful.
The mayor of Ormoc City and the representative of Leyte’s 4th District expressed their support for the government, claiming that their drug-suppression policy was a success. People who do not have ‘firsthand experience,’ according to Mayor Richard, are those who claim that the administration’s efforts have failed.
“Siguro kung wala kang firsthand experience, madaling sabihin na failure ‘yung programa ni presidente. Pero ‘pag galing ka sa isang lugar tulad ng Ormoc, nung 2016, makikita mo na talagang very effective ‘yung trabaho na ginawa ng kapulisan,” said Richard.

He went on to say that if President Duterte had not been our president at the time, we may have been in a narco-state by now. This is also Cong. Lucy’s opinion, who claims that the drug campaign in their province was a success.
“I will stand on what I have always said na the president is not perfect. He was never rin naman projected himself as the perfect president but if there was a legacy… ‘Yung nagawa niya to clean up the city from the evil effects of drugs that have been in this city for the longest time,” said the legislator.
It can’t be paid for, according to the former actress, because no matter how much cleaning is done on the bottom, if there is a protector on top, nothing will happen. She went on to say that it must be a coordinated effort.
It will be noted that journalist Raffy Tulfo’s statement regarding the administration’s allegedly failing anti-drug program became the buzz of social media. Tulfo believes the campaign is a failure, and Duterte has conceded as much, claiming that he can handle the drug problem in six months then recently admitting that he can’t and that he can.
