Netizens Expresses Sympathy Towards Family Who Hanged Loved Ones’ Casket at Ceiling Due to Massive Flooding in Palawan

A certain family in Sofronio Española, Palawan goes viral after hanging the casket of their deceased loved one due to flooding.

Over the past few days, Severe Tropical Storm Maring continues to bring an inclement weather condition in several parts of the country. Maring brings violent winds and heavy to intense rainfall.

The weather system causes several rivers to overflow, which leads to massive flooding in various provinces in the Philippines. Ilocos Sur, Cagayan and some Luzon provinces are the most affected regions.

A Facebook user named Sheryl Suico Tagyam has shared the photos of her deceased niece’s casket hanged at the ceiling due to the massive flooding. The post garnered various reactions from the netizens.

In the photos, it can be seen that the casket was hanged at the ceiling to prevent it from soaking in floodwaters. The water level start to rise around 7 or 8 am last Monday due to the intense rains brought by Maring.

“Ang inisip namin baka mabuwal siya doon sa stand niya. Hindi na siya mailalabas kasi hanggang balikat na ‘yung baha kaya ang inisip namin isabit na lang po sa kisame para hindi po siya maabot,” Tagyam said.
