Ara Mina spoke about being linked to Manny Pacquiao in the past
Actress Ara Mina addressed the question of whether she and boxing champ Manny Pacquiao ever had a romantic relationship.
It will be recalled that this issue gained significant attention when she worked on a movie with the “Pambansang Kamao” in the past. In 2008, they starred in the movie Anak ng Kumander.
They had an intimate scene in the movie. Back then, speculations surfaced that romance bloomed between them.
In an interview with Kapuso veteran journalist Susan Enriquez for “Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs,” based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Ara Mina clarified that they were only romantically linked due to their 2008 film.
“Na-link lang sa movie. Kasi, I think, first movie ba n’ya ‘yon? Saka inamin naman niya sa akin na crush niya ako noon pa,” the actress shared.
When asked if Manny courted her, the actress replied, “Ligaw ba ‘yon? Parang normal na… I don’t think ligaw ‘yung ginawa niya sa akin.”
Ara also shared that Manny told her that even before he became a famous boxer, he already had a Tanduay poster of the actress. “Sabi niya, ‘Kailan ko kaya makakasama ‘to?’ Parang gano’n,” Ara shared what Manny reportedly told her.
The actress stressed that she and Manny did not have a romantic relationship. “Hindi. Lahat naman kasi para kumita ‘yung movie,” she said.
When asked if she felt like Pambansang Kamao had a crush on her when they were shooting their movie, Ara Mina answered, “Oo, ramdam ko.”
Meanwhile, in the same interview, Ara stressed that she is not a “bayaran.” She is aware of the issue that some showbiz personalities would accept indecent proposals, and those who were into sultry projects would receive these kinds of offers. However, she asserted that she had never said yes to this.
