ONLINE SELLING – The Sorsogon City Jail Inmates gone viral after selling their hand-crafted products on social media.
The Philippine government has been giving some job opportunities for criminals and inmates inside the city jails. The country’s officials want to detainees to pay for their wrongdoings and at the same time to earn money to support their families.
The government officials usually provides part-time jobs to prisoners especially during the Christmas season. Inmates were tasked to make hand-made products and Christmas decorations.
Distributors are the responsible for the selling and disposal of the products. However, a lot of entrepreneurs are already engaging in online selling for faster distribution of products made by inmates.
The inmates from Sorsogon City Jail are now making rounds on social media because of online selling. The hardworking detainees have been selling hand-crafted products they have personally made.
The prisoners were selling lampshades, baskets made of abbacca and lanterns for the upcoming Christmas season. The inmates have been receiving a massive amount of orders from different parts of the world.
The hand-crafted products with international quality are being exported worldwide. The items are exported in countries such as Hawaii and New York. Foreign nationals admire the quality of the products.
According to the reports, the earnings would go to the inmates and their families.
