The two were apprehended by the MPD during follow-up operations at the Caltex Gasoline Station on Angelina Cananay Avenue in Parañaque City, according to police. According to Francisco, the culprits were identified through retracing by CCTV cameras, which revealed the Transportify Mitsubishi L300 van owned by Belgrade Trucking and with the license plate NCW 2751.
Hours before the bank heist, the claimed van was parked at the Paz Guazon intersection of Mendiola Sts. in Manila. Following the robbery, the main suspect casually strolled and rode a motorcycle to the van’s position.
The stolen money totaling P690,000 was entered into the van upon arrival, and the motorcycle was also placed inside. Police are still looking for the primary suspect who claimed to create a bank account before committing a holdup.
His identity has also been determined, according to MPD Spokesperson Capt. Philipp Ines, but owing to the ongoing follow-up operation, his name cannot be revealed just yet. The money that the suspects stole from the bank, which was thought to be kept by the primary suspect, was never found.
