The Tecno Spark 5 Air was announced on May 5, 2020, and released in July 2020. The smartphone is powered by a Mediatek Octa-core processor. It runs on the Android 10 (Go Edition) + HIOS 6.0 operating system.

The device is integrated with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage option can be expanded up to 128GB using an extra memory card via a dedicated card slot.

Tecno Spark 5 Air comes with a screen size of 7.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels. It measures 174.6 x 79.3 x 9.1 mm. it is available in various colors such as Ice Jadeite, Spark Orange, Vacation Blue, and Misty Green.

The rear side of the Tecno Spark 5 Air sports a dual-camera that consists of 13-megapixel + QVGA with features like HDR, quad-LED flash, and panorama. On the front, the mobile features an 8-megapixel (wide) camera for clicking beautiful selfies and making video calls.

Connectivity options on the phone include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, FM radio, MicroUSB 2.0, and USB On-The-Go (OTG). Sensors on the device include fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, and proximity. It is powered by a 5000 mAh Li-Po battery (non-removable).
