Police Authorities Raids Online Seller’s Office After Customers Filed Complaints
The police authorities have raided an online seller’s office after several customers complained of receiving rocks instead of gadgets.
The Manila Bureau of Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and District Intelligence Division Special Mayor’s Reaction team (DID SMaRT) launched a surprise inspection at Apollo Electronics and Accessories Corp on Tuesday (September 28, 2021).
The authorities conducted the surprise inspection after a concerned citizen reported that the online seller has no business permit. The office is located at the second floor of 1120 Otis Building in Paco, Manila.
The cops discovered multiple boxes of items wrapped with the packaging of a popular parcel logistics. The officials opened the boxes and found pieces of rocks inside the parcels. Other package contains real cellphone.
According to DID SMaRT chief Police Lt.Col. Rosalino Ibay, the company is selling cellphones, gadgets and other electronic items. The firm is also offering cellphones of popular brands but customers usually receive rocks or cheap brand phones.
“Lumalabas na mayroon silang false information sa mga nilalabas nila sa mga commercial nila na ‘yun ay malakas. At tumambad din sa amin na madaming return items sila doon sa establisyemento na pinasok namin,” Ibay said.

The police officer also revealed that Apollo Electronics and Accessories Corp has 35 sites of their online selling partners.
The company owner and its employees refused to give a statement regarding the accusations. Ibay said that the owner told him that the rocks inside the boxes were only used to increase the seller’s ratings.
The authorities would still investigate the recipients who might be using fictitious names.
“They have one address na kung saan doon lang bumabagsak but using different names at ‘yun ‘yung pinakikita nila na mataas ‘yung rate nila sa pagkuha sa kanila ng mga parokyano nila,” Ibay added.
