Boxing eight-division titleholder Manny Pacquiao bids his goodbye to boxing and he admitted that it is the hardest decision he ever made.
The boxer-turned-politician has officially announced his retirement through his social media accounts. Nicknamed PacMan, he has received world recognition for being at his best when it comes to boxing.
Indeed, he has brought pride to the Philippines and worldwide recognition because of his supremacy in almost all of his fights. Although he was defeated in his most recent fight against Yordenis Ugas, his fans still rallied behind him.
Manny Pacquiao thanked the people who have been with him since day one of his boxing journey. In the almost 15-minute video, he mentioned the names of individuals and families who helped him in achieving his dreams.
He thanked his coach, Freddie Roach, as well as his trainers and people in the boxing circle. PacMan also thanked his fans, the whole world, especially the Filipino people for supporting him. “Goodbye boxing,” he said.
In the Twitter post on his official account, the Senator admitted this: “This is the hardest decision I’ve ever made, but I’m at peace with it.” He also shared words of encouragement with everyone as he said, “Chase your dreams, work hard, and watch what happens.”
In the comment section, fans honored his contribution to the country in the field of boxing. Many also expressed love and support for him. There were also those who thanked him for inspiring many people.
Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao has already announced his presidential candidacy in 2022. However, the Senator has not revealed yet if who will his running mate. Rumors surfaced that broadcaster-vlogger Raffy Tulfo will run as PacMan’s Vice President. However, Tulfo, who is a vocal supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, belied the speculations.
