Bea Alonzo is going international
Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo is set to star in an international film that will be produced by boxer-politician Manny Pacquiao.
Bea has already done several blockbuster films in the past, aside from the hit teleseryes that she made during the time when she was still in the Kapamilya network.
Based on the article in Variety, the actress will be doing a Filipino-Hollywood film titled Angel Warrior. This will be under the Inspire Studios. This will be produced by the film company’s founder and CEO Francis Lara Ho and executive produced by John Shepherd (“The Stoning of Soraya M.”) and Senator Manny Pacquiao. Cyrus Nowrasteh penned the screenplay.
Reportedly, the shooting will commence in mid-2022 and it is intended to be released in the U.S. and other parts of the world in the latter part of next year. The movie is based on a fact-based World War II story, which is about a pre-war era Filipina named Tala who had a near-death experience. After what she went through, she became an underground fighter who has been helping the poorly-equipped Filipino and American guerillas on the island of Panay. The island was part of the Philippines’ resistance movement against the occupation of Japanese WWII.
Meanwhile, Bea Alonzo is also set to do a movie with Kapuso Multimedia Star Alden Richards. The said movie was based on a Japanese series that also had a South Korean movie remake.
Just recently, the actress shared glimpses of her back-to-work routine in her new home studio with all her TV appearances for various shows of the Kapuso network. She signed a contract with GMA-7 last July after spending 20 years under the management of the Kapamilya network.
