Netizens slammed the photos of Senator Manny Pacquiao showing that he was eating with his hand and Korina Sanchez reacted to the negative comments.
It has been a custom of many Filipinos to eat with hands and sometimes, consciously or unconsciously, this has been associated with a “status symbol”. It is inevitable to attach this kind of custom to the lesser fortunate but it is still a known fact that Filipinos from different walks of life are doing this.
In a recent Instagram post of Korina Sanchez, she showcased the two photos of boxer-politician that were taken while he was eating. “Ang sabi ni Sen. Manny Pacquiao: basta. Mas masarap kumain nang naka kamay. PS: Naubos ang dalawang takal ng kanin and fish. Naiwan ang chicken. FYI,” the Rated Korina host wrote in the caption of her post.
Several netizens who commented on this post of the veteran journalist slammed the senator. There were those who said that it is just propaganda and that they have already seen it before. Some netizens pointed out that they will no longer be deceived by this kind of “show”.
On the other hand, there were also netizens who showed admiration to the Senator for being humble even until now and some fired back at his bashers saying that it’s none of their business if Pacman has this custom when eating.
Korina also reacted to the negative comments. She stressed that the Senator had no idea that she was taking photos of him while he was eating. The journalist also slammed those who expressed that this is just propaganda for the next election.
