Ariella Arida talked about her not so wholesome role
Beauty queen-turned-actress Ariella Arida has this reaction to being tagged as “Pantasya ng Bayan” and her competition with fellow former beauty queen Kylie Verzosa.
After her pageant stint, Ariella did some hosting and acting stints as part of her career transition. She is making a mark in showbiz after leaving a mark in the world of national pageantry for winning Miss Universe Philippines 2013.
Among her recent projects is Vivamax’s adult comedy movie Sarap Mong Patayin with actor Kit Thompson and comedian Lassy Marquez. Her role in the said film required her to be more sensual than in the previous projects that she did, based on the article in Manila Bulletin. With this, she is now being tagged as the new “Pantasya ng Bayan” and Ariella said that she has no problem with this.
“Well, I see nothing wrong with it. I guess it comes with the territory. I mean, it’s just work so…” Ariella Arida said. Her fellow former beauty queen and friend Kylie Verzosa also received the same moniker. Kylie’s The Housemaid movie was recently released that also has intimate scenes.
Ariella said that there is no issue between her and Kylie even though they are both being billed as “Pantasya ng Bayan”. She does not see it as a negative competition.
“Wala namang problema sa competition with Kylie as long as it’s a healthy competition. I think it would help us both to be better in our craft,” Ariella said.
On the other hand, she stressed that she will not concentrate mainly on this genre of films as she wants to do action movies as well. Ariella Arida shared that she would love to do action movies like “Lara Craft, Tomb Raider.”
