PAGASA Says ITCZ to Bring Cloudy To Rainy Conditions Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy to rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (September 18, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA said that the Intertropical Convergence Zone would bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar.

The localized thunderstorms would bring similar weather conditions over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Aurora.

The ITCZ and localized thunderstorms would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Central Visayas, Western Visayas and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

The rest of Visayas and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.  Possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms are expected.

Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said that no weather disturbances are expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next few days.

“For the next three to five days, for now, wala po tayong nakikitang namumuong sama ng panahon o LPA na maaaring makaapekto sa ating bansa,” Bulquerin said.

The coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao would be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
