RICHARD GOMEZ – The local government of Ormoc City announced its Mayor’s political plan in the Election 2022.
Some celebrities in the showbiz industry have left the field for another venue for public service – the political arena. One of them is actor-turned-politician Richard Gomez who is currently the mayor of Ormoc City.
Richard was one of the matinee idols of his time. Many people agree that he was the reality of the line “tall, dark, and handsome”. He stayed in showbiz for several years before he eventually found his path to public service through a position in the government.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the LGU revealed that Goma is running for a seat in Congress next year. He will vie as the representative of the fourth district of Leyte.
Currently, the wife of Goma, Lucy Torres, is a member of the Congress as a representative of Leyte. The LGU of Ormoc described the couple as “leaders with integrity, have a proven track record, committed to help the Ormoc community and dedicated to progress”.

Lucy is currently serving her last term in Congress and there are undeniably a lot of offers for her. Reportedly, she was considered in several political line-ups including the senatorial slate of the Lacson-Sotto tandem in the Election 2022.
