SARA DUTERTE – The camp of the Davao City Mayor revealed the position that she will run for in the upcoming Election 2022.

One of the personalities eyed to run for president in the Election 2022 was presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. She was leading the surveys for possible presidential candidates next year.

The Davao City Mayor was urged by her party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, to run for the highest position in the national government next year. Initially, she admitted that she has no plans to run for president in 2022 but she was given the time to reconsider her decision.

A few days ago, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte accepted the nomination of his political party, PDP-Laban, for vice president. It was followed by the Davao City Mayor’s confirmation that she is not running for president next year.

According to Mayor Sara Duterte, she and her father have agreed that only one of them will be running for a national position next year. Meanwhile, she assured that their political plans are separated from their familial relationship. She even asked her supporters to back her father’s bid for the vice presidency.

Prior to accepting the nomination of PDP-Laban, the 76-year-old President was vocal that he will not run for vice president if his daughter will take the presidential bid. It sparked a reaction from her daughter asking him not to base his decision on her and to stop talking about her.

Recently, the camp of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte revealed the position that she will run for in Election 2022. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in a text message, the presidential daughter’s spokesperson said that Mayor Sara expressed that she will seek re-election as Davao City Mayor in 2022.
