Enrique Gil talked about his childhood years
Kapamilya actor Enrique Gil revealed a few things about his younger self and what he was like during his childhood years.
Enrique has paved his way to stardom and he, along with his reel and real-life sweetheart Liza Soberano, are among the most popular showbiz pairs of their generation.
Just like other celebrities who did not grow up in showbiz, Quen also had a normal childhood without cameras yet around him. Talking to King of Talk Boy Abunda, he was asked what he remembers when talking about his childhood.
Enrique Gil shared that he remembers that his family used to travel and go to the beach back then because his parents were working as crew for Philippine Airlines. This gave them the privilege to travel to the States and some parts of Europe.
The actor also said that when he was a kid, he would always get “kurot” from other people because of his adorable face. “During that time ‘90s, Home Alone was popular then and they would always call me Macaulay Culkin, Home Alone,” Quen shared.
In school, he said that he was the shy type. He admitted that after going to the cafeteria of his new school for a week, he decided to just each lunch in the classroom because he would feel that everyone would stare at him.
“Maybe because I had this sense of being an outsider or, I don’t know because I was the only Caucasian-looking boy out there,” he said about the possible reason why that happened back in school.
When asked what his reaction was to the girls admiring him, Erique Gil said that he did not pay attention to them. He also shared that back then, he does not think of himself as handsome. “I wouldn’t say that because in school parang ang dami kasing may mga jowa-jowa. I wasn’t part of the group. I felt like I was a nerd in a way,” the actor explained.
Being a middle child also was not a problem for him. Quen said that his parents made sure that they were treated equally.
