Nadine Lustre & Apl.de.ap Team Up for New Single Donuts
NADINE LUSTRE – A surprising musical partnership is making waves as Nadine Lustre and Apl.de.ap join forces for the upbeat and daring track “Donuts.”
Nadine Lustre and Filipino-American rapper Apl.de.ap have teamed up for a new musical collaboration titled “Donuts,” bringing together two artists from different musical backgrounds for an upbeat and confident new release.
Lustre announced the collaboration through Instagram, sharing several photos of herself with Apl.de.ap against what appeared to be a dramatic red sky. The actress-singer expressed her excitement about working with the Black Eyed Peas member and described the experience as something almost unreal.
“A little surreal making music with a legend, @apldeap. D O N U T S out on all platforms,” she said in the caption.
According to the statement released about the project, “Donuts” carries an energetic and bold sound. Lustre contributes melodic lines as well as rap sections, while the track also features Taglish lyrics performed by both artists.
The song centers on themes of confidence, self-expression, and taking control of one’s own story. With its lively production and empowering message, “Donuts” appears designed not only to provide listeners with good vibes but also to encourage them to embrace their individuality.
The new single follows “Personal,” which Lustre released in August. The track marked her return to music after taking a three-year break from releasing songs. Before “Personal,” her most recent solo release was “Overgrown,” which came out in June 2023.
While music remains an important part of her career, Lustre has also continued to take on acting projects. She recently appeared alongside Vice Ganda in “Call Me Mother,” an entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival. She is also set to star opposite Alden Richards in the romantic drama web series “Love, Siargao.”
Meanwhile, Apl.de.ap has built an international career as one of the members of the Black Eyed Peas. The group became known worldwide for major hits such as “Where Is the Love?,” “Boom Boom Pow,” and “I Gotta Feeling.”
The rapper has likewise highlighted his Filipino heritage through songs including “Bebot” and “The APL Song.”
Fans will have another opportunity to see Apl.de.ap perform live as he joins the lineup of the upcoming “9RACE” music festival in Manila this October.
