Here’s a profile of Miss Universe Philippines delegate from Marinduque, Simone Nadine Bornilla.
MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES – Simone Nadine Bornilla of Marinduque is among the top during the interview challenge and here are her answers.
Marinduque’s official representative for the Miss Universe PH pageant is Simone Nadine Bornilla and she’s among the top 7 who stood out during the interview challenge. In this particular virtual challenge of the pageant, the one who topped is Victoria Vincent of Cavite, a double Master’s degree holder.
Here’s the complete list of the Top 7:
- Victoria Velasquez Vincent
- Maria Ingrid Teresita Santamaria
- Rousanne Marie Bernos
- Isabelle De Los Santos
- Megan Julia Roa Digal
- Beatrice Luigi Gomez
- Simone Nadine Bornilla
Simone Nadine Bornilla was raised by two gay men. She is no longer new in the pageant scene. She won the title Miss Philippine Youth 2018 and Miss Teen International Philippines 2018. She also competed in Miss Teen International in New Delhi and won the continental title Miss Teen International – Asia and Oceania.
She did ballet, musical theater, and choral competitions when she was young. Joining pageants is something her parents are ecstatic about.
Out of three questions, one asked of her is if this generation’s youth now is experiencing more pressure compared to previous generations and she believes so. She cited social media has posed a certain standard to the youth of today in the ideal becoming of a person.
Indeed, there are certain standards that were introduced, and judgments on social media are made out of these “norms” where some tend to go out of who they want because of fear of being ridiculed and mocked. For her, this is the reason why there’s more pressure on today’s youth.
Here are her answers to two other questions:
Who do you think is the most influential Filipino today?
“I think that the most influential Filipino today is, I still think it’s Miss Pia Wurtzbach. Of course, I remember how she competed, and she was very much persevering through it all. And I think that that’s something that I really admire. It’s something that every young girl admires from her, she taught me a lesson that I could apply in my everyday life, and that’s to never give up on something that you really want.”
How has the pandemic challenged you?
“I think that the pandemic has definitely challenged everyone because it changed the way that we live our everyday lives and so although it may be, it may have been challenging, I think that it’s also refreshing because it gave us a new perspective as to how we can go about doing things.”
