Yordenis Ugas Says He’s Ready For ‘Twelve Hard Rounds’ W/ Manny Pacquiao
YORDENIS UGAS – 2008 Cuban Olympian, Yordenis Ugas said he’s ready for ‘twelve hard rounds’ with legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao.
Eight-division world boxing champion and Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao was supposed to fight WBC and IBF champion Errol Spence Jr. but the American fighter withdraws from his fight due to the torn retina in his left eye. Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugas was called on short notice to replace him.
Ugas’ original opponent also suffered an injury and was forced to cancel their fight. His bout with the Filipino boxer is almost destined.
Yordenis Ugas is considered one of the best welterweights in the game. He brought pride to his country after winning bronze in the 2008 Olympic games. He has 3 inches height advantage and 2 inches reach advantage on Pacquiao.
The Cuban boxer said he’s honored to fight Pacquiao and he’s “more than ready to take on this challenge.” In a previous article, Pacman’s trainer Buboy Fernandez predicted the Pinoy boxer will knock out Ugas. He said Pacman is a lot faster and stronger than the younger boxer.
