Here’s what Johnny Manahan said about working with various artists in showbiz

Star builder Johnny Manahan, also known as the famous Mr. M, revealed something about working with showbiz newbies and big stars.

For several decades, Mr, M has helped many showbiz aspirants to pave their way to stardom. Being the former head of Star Magic, the talent management firm of ABS-CBN, he has various kinds of talents who made it big in the entertainment industry.

Now that he is the consultant of GMA Artist Center, he aims to nurture new talents who also aspire to make it big one day. Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Johnny Manahan has already had a conversation with GMA executives, entertainment directors, and talent managers.

They talked about discovering new talents who can be superstars in the future. He said that his motivation in work is the fact that he gets the chance to work with younger people. “I love being around young people. I don’t love being around old people, my classmates. It’s the young people who want to become an artist, and I’m there to give them a helping hand. That’s what motivates me,” the star builder said.

Mr. M also said that it is more enjoyable to hone new artists and build their careers than maintaining a star. “It’s building the talent from the ground-up kasi ’pag malaki na silang artista, para mo nang kaibigan, e. You don’t do too much work. They know what to do, or they know what they want,” he said.

Then, Johnny Manahan joked that big stars are already “matigas ang ulo”. “If you put it another way, matigas na ’yung ulo nila,” he said and laughed after.

Meanwhile, Mr. M stressed that showbiz newbies should possess love for what they are doing in order for them to succeed in the show business. He also pointed out the work ethics and the determination that they really want to be in this industry.
