Johnny Manahan will be doing this as the new GMAAC consultant
New GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) consultant Johnny Manahan revealed that he has this mandate in the Kapuso network.
Mr. M said that the offer from GMA was something that he can’t refuse. After thinking of retiring from show business, he comes back to doing things that he is passionate about.
This new stint of the former Star Magic head in the Kapuso network can be called his come back to GMA as he already worked with the network decades ago.
Based on the article in PEP, Mr. M shared that his “kaba” made him go for this new offer. “When that happens to me, I know that’s the right time. Pag takot ako, I go, I jump into it. That helps. You don’t think about it, you just jump. After a while, you’ll know that you’re in the right direction,” he said.
He also revealed that he has a mandate in GMA. Johnny Manahan asked the management of the Kapuso network regarding his job description and he was told that he can choose the artists who are fit to be in a certain teleserye or project.
“Ayun ang sabi nila. Pwede ako dun makisawsaw, kumbaga, kung sino pwede ilagay sa iba’t ibang teleserye,” the star-maker said.
With this, Mr. M showed appreciation for the trust that the Kapuso network is giving to him. He also shared that he now has more freedom in training the artists and doing what he wants to do in projects.
Johnny Manahan also stressed that his transfer to GMA does not mean that he will compete with other Kapuso executives. ”We told them, ‘We’re not here to replace anybody. Consultants lang kami,’” he said.
