PAGASA Says Easterlies or Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather

LATEST WEATHER UPDATE – The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the easterlies would bring rains to many parts of the country.

On Tuesday (August 17, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the easterlies would bring rains over most parts of the country. It would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands would also experience the same weather condition.

The easterlies or localized thunderstorms would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the entire Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and the Zamboanga Peninsula.

“Sa kasalukuyan ay nakakaapekto ang easterlies o mainit na hanging nagmumula sa Dagat Pasipiko dito sa buong kapuluan kaya’t malaking bahagi ng ating bansa ay makakaranas ng maaliwalas na panahon, ngunit asahan ang pagkakaroon ng panandaliang buhos ng ulan dulot ng localized thunderstorms,” Pagasa senior weather specialist Meno Mendoza said.

The two weather disturbances would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency also said that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, and most parts of Mindanao will have a fair weather condition.

Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions are expected throughout the entire coastal area of the country.
