Joel Villanueva found support from his father’s church
Senator Joel Villanueva was mentioned by his father, Jesus Is Lord leader Eddie Villanueva, during his recent preaching.
Sen. Joel was under fire after he was accused of being one of the Senators who allegedly received kickbacks from the anomalous flood control projects. His photos and videos of visiting the flood control project in Bulacan with former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) District Engineer Henry Alcantara circulated online.
The lawmaker denied having any transactions with the DE before these social media footprints surfaced. He also threatened to file a case against his accusers.
Following the corruption accusation, another rumor surfaced against Sen. Joel Villanueva. Allegedly, his side chick is beauty queen Angelica Corporal, whose lavish lifestyle was highlighted. As of this writing, the Senator has not spoken yet about his alleged relationship with the beauty queen. Amid the issue, the lawmaker shared a Bible Verse.
In a video shared on Reddit by @Ok-Item525 under r/ChikaPH, it can be seen that JIL founder and leader Eddie Villanueva mentioned the recent issue about his son. The preacher said Sen. Joel’s name was mentioned, and now he is already accused of pocketing the people’s money.
“Tumatag kang mabuti, kaya lang baka hindi ka abutin ng mga lawyers namin, pero tandaan mo to, yan, yan, nagkamali ka bata,” Eddie Villanueva said while ex-DPWH engineer Brice Hernandez’s face was flashed on the big screen behind him.
To recall, Brice accused Sen. Joel and Sen Jinggoy Estrada of receiving kickbacks from the flood control projects.
