PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (August 11)

PAGASA Says LPA and Habagat to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Conditions Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area and southwest monsoon would bring rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (August 11, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA and habagat would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 560 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan. The LPA’s trough would bring an inclement weather condition over parts of Luzon.

The LPA would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Lubang Islands, and Kalayaan Islands.

“Sa ngayon po’y mahina pa rin ang ‘habagat’ or southwest monsoon, at tanging dito pa rin po sa extreme northern Luzon nakakaapekto. Pero, may mga pag-ulan pa rin po tayo for most of Luzon. Ito’y dahil dun sa trough or extension ng isang low pressure area,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said

Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands would also experience similar weather conditions.

The southwest monsoon would bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers over the entire Visayas as well as Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The localized thunderstorms would also bring the same weather condition over the remaining parts of the country.

The LPA and southwest monsoon may also trigger possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms, according to the weather bureau.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the entire country would be slight to moderate.
