PAGASA: LPA & Habagat to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Conditions Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (August 10)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area and the southwest monsoon would bring cloudy to rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (August 10, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and the habagat would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

The low-pressure area has been last spotted at 280 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. It has only a slim chance of developing into a storm and it is expected to dissipate within the next few days.

“Mababa ang tsansa na maging bagyo ito at may posibilidad na malusaw sa mga susunod na araw pero makakaapekto pa rin ito sa Luzon at Visayas,” PAGASA weather forecaster Joey Figuracion said.

The LPA would affect the weather condition over Luzon and Visayas. The LPA and the southwest monsoon would bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, and the Visayas.

Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon as well as Eastern Visayas are also expected to experience similar weather condition. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas during moderate to at times heavy rains.

The localized thunderstorms are expected to bring over partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers over Mindanao region. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro would be slight to moderate. Luzon and Mindanao are also expected to experience the same surrounding sea conditions.
