Update on Tropical Storm “Huaning” That’s Now within PAR

TROPICAL STORM “HUANING” – PAGASA reported that TS “Huaning” off Batanes has made its entry to the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Every year, there are several typhoons entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility. They are monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration or more commonly called PAGASA. It is the body that releases official updates regarding this natural occurrence.

Throughout the year, the naming of tropical storms is done alphabetically. For 2021, there are already seven (7) typhoons) that entered PH. Some of them bring huge damages in certain areas where they made a heavy downfall.

Recently, PAGASA released an update about another typhoon that is set to bring rains in the Philippines. The state weather agency announced that Tropical Storm “Huaning” has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The maximum sustained winds of the Tropical Storm is at 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center. Its gusts has a maximum of 80 kilometers per hour (kph).

According to PAGASA, it was at 5:00 in the morning today, August 7, 2021, when Tropical Storm “Huaning” entered PAR. It was located north northwest of Itbayat, Batanes. The state weather bureau said that the direction of the storm is on east northeast movement.

Starting 11:00 in the morning today, PAGASA would be releasing updates regarding TS Huaning. According to the state weather agency, Luzon and Visayas are currently experiencing the southwest monsoon or habagat. Metro Manila may experience isolated thunderstorms while the following regions may experience scattered rains and thunderstorms:

  • Batanes
  • Benguet
  • Babuyan Islands
  • Ilocos Region
  • Zambales
