Politics was one of the possibilities Enchong Dee thought about
Actor Enchong Dee revealed that he had an intention to enter the political arena however he did not pursue this plan because of this reason.
Enchong is one of the celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry who has been vocal when it comes to topics about politics and social issues. Through his social media platforms, the actor has been trying to impart to his followers and fans his idea and concept about the things that matter to him.
Despite this gesture of Enchong is being acknowledged and admired by many, there were also those who criticize him for attacking the government and certain political personalities.
Based on the article in The Philippine Star, Enchong Dee revealed that being one of the people in politics used to interest him. However, this has changed now.
“To be honest naman, my course when I was studying college was under Political Science so there was the intention. Pero ako kasi, for me to help, I don’t want to be too idealistic pero kailangan ma-inspire ako ng gobyerno para tumuntong,” the actor said during an interview on Pop Cinema.
He stressed that in his own little way, he is doing his part as a member of a community. Then, once again, he got honest about the Duterte administration. I’m not inspired at all with this administration. “I do my part as a private citizen, gagawin ko lahat ng tulong ko that’s why I’m opening businesses despite of, that’s why I’m still working despite of,” the actor said.
Enchong also addressed those people who are criticizing celebrities like him who are known to be critics of the government. “Totoo naman ‘yon e, ano ‘yung ambag mo? Baka ‘pag nilatagan kita ng ambag ko, baka hindi mo rin tanggapin. Let’s be honest, mayabang ako ‘pag I need to be. I’m also ready to help if I need to,” he stressed.
On the other, when Enchong Dee was asked if he is already closing his doors to politics, he answered that he will not put a period on this. The actor said that he is willing to entertain the possibilities wherever his journey will lead him.
