PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar Says QCPD Commander Dismissed After Deploying Cops w/ Pending COVID-19 Results During SONA 2021
PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar said that the QCPD commander has been dismissed after deploying cops with pending COVID-19 results during SONA 2021.
Eleazar said that the commander of Police Station 3 in Quezon City identified as Lieutenant Colonel Cristine Tabdi has been dismissed from post over the deployment of cops with pending COVID-19 test results during President Duterte’s last SONA.
The PNP head described the incident as a breach of protocol because the police officers were still waiting for their RT-PCR results. He also explained that Tabdi has been relieved due to command responsibility.
“In view of the apparent breach of protocol when most of these PNP personnel were deployed for SONA duties even if they were still waiting for their RT-PCR results, I have already ordered the administrative relief of the Station Commander, Police Station 3 of the QCPD, for command responsibility,” Eleazar said.
The RT-PCR results showed that 82 out of 161 personnel from the police station have tested positive for coronavirus disease. 51 of infected cops were deployed during SONA 2021, according to QCPD director Police Brigadier General Antonio Yarra.
The PNP chief said that the agency is still waiting for the COVID-19 test result of 167 PNP personnel. He also stressed reminded all commander to strictly observe all protocols to avoid such incidents.
