Major Highways Along Metro Manila Suffered Road Damages to Incessant Rains Last Week

MANILA – The road damages in Metro Manila and its nearby areas have increase due to the heavy and incessant rains last week.

Last week, Typhoon Fabian enhances the southwest monsoon that causes an inclement weather condition, which triggers massive flooding in various parts of the country particularly in the National Capital Region.

The major roads along Taft Avenue, Quirino Avenue, Padre Burgos and Roxas Boulevard have suffered damages due to the heavy and incessant rains last week. The heavy rains causes different sizes of holes along the road.

Road Damages

The road holes and damages are extremely dangerous for vehicle drivers especially for the motorcycle riders, which may lead to accident. It also causes traffic congestions and inconvenience to the Filipino motorists.

Numerous orange barriers were scattered along Roxas Boulevard, which serves as warning device. Several roads in Pasay, Quezon City have also potholes.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority EDSA Traffic chief Bong Nebrija advised the motorists to take precautionary measures for potholes along EDSA. No repairs would be done until the southwest monsoon passed away.
