LTO-PNP HPG Arrest 2 Alleged Fixers During Entrapment Operation
Two alleged fixers involved in illegal fixing activities were arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by LTO and PNP-HPG.
The Land Transportation Office with the assistance of the Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group conducted an entrapment operation leading the arrested of the suspects. The operation was launched after a concerned citizen filed a complaint against the suspects.
According to the complainant, he paid P45,000 to process a driver’s license through the women. However, instead of completing the transaction, the suspects allegedly continued asking for additional payments.
The victim became suspicious after repeated requests for more money and decided to report the matter to authorities. Acting on the complaint, the LTO coordinated with the PNP-HPG to verify the information and prepare an entrapment operation.
The operation was successfully carried out and resulted in the arrest of the two women. Authorities immediately took them into custody for further investigation.
The suspects were brought to Camp Crame for proper documentation and the filing of appropriate charges after the arrest. Investigators are now gathering more evidence to determine the full extent of the alleged illegal activities and whether other individuals may have been involved.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus L. Lacanilao personally faced the arrested suspects after the operation. He reiterated the agency’s strong stand against fixers and warned that there is no place in the agency for individuals who engage in or support illegal fixing schemes.
The LTO emphasized that its campaign against fixers remains active as part of its efforts to protect the public and ensure that services are delivered fairly, honestly, and efficiently. The agency noted that fixing not only violates the law but also undermines the integrity of government services.
Motorists and applicants were again reminded to transact only through official LTO offices and authorized channels. The agency also encouraged the public to immediately report anyone offering illegal shortcuts or promising faster transactions in exchange for additional fees.
