Pope Francis Undergoes Operation, Now Out from Hospital
POPE FRANCIS – The Catholic leader gave a message to the public on his 1st appearance since he stayed in the hospital for an operation.
The Catholic religion which has millions of believers across the globe is led by Pope Francis who stays in Vatican. Born as Jorge Mario Bergoglio, he is the first from the Americas and the Southern Hemisphere to be the pope. It was in 2013 he sat as the leader of the Catholic Church.
Throughout his years as the Pope, he never had a long stay in a hospital until recently when he had to go through an intestinal surgery. He was suffering from symptomatic stenosis of the colon.
The Pope is currently 84 years old. His health condition was reportedly common among older people and a person suffering from it may experience difficulty in bowel movement, bloatedness of the stomach, and inflammation.
Pope Francis was admitted in Gemilli Hospital in Rome. Reportedly, a part of the 10th floor of the hospital was reserved for the Pope’s confinement. The 84-year-old Pontiff also suffers from sciatica which may bring pain from the lower back to the nerve in the legs.
Prior to his confinement, the Pope spoke to thousands of people at the St. Peter’s Square and gave them a Sunday blessing. He also shared that, in September, he is set to fly to Slovakia and Budapest.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pope Francis had an 11-day stay at the hospital following his surgery. He was already discharged and has even made his 1st appearance already and gave a message to the public.
According to the report, speaking from a window overlooking the St. Peter’s Square, the 84-year-old Pope told the people to take a break from always rushing. Hundreds of people were in the Square when he appeared and they’re glad to see him.
“Let us put a halt to the frantic running around dictated by our agendas. Let us learn how to take a break, to turn off the mobile phone,” the Pope said.
Reportedly, the Pope did not speak about his operation nor stay at the hospital. His operation was done last July 4 and a part of his colon was removed.
