Cristine Reyes Stayed in Hospital for 1 Month Due to Meningitis
CRISTINE REYES – The actress revealed that she suffered from meningitis before and she had a close encounter with God.
Actors and actresses are among the people who are living the busiest lives. That is no secret to the public. Before the COVID-19 pandemic started, most showbiz celebrities turn nights into days working on their projects. There are tapings that are done late midnight or at dawn.
Time to simply sit and relax or to sleep is a luxury for most actors and actresses. Most of them would prefer to sleep and take a rest with their loved ones whenever they have the chance to. Most projects require intense commitments for several months if not for years.
One of the risks in their busy schedules is a low immune system against diseases. That is what happened to actress Cristine Reyes who recently revealed she has experienced meningitis before.
Based on an article on PUSH, Cristine Reyes got sick of meningitis while she was doing Reputasyon, an ABS-CBN TV series, and the movie The Other Woman by Star Cinema and Viva Films. Speaking to a press conference for Encounter, the actress said her body’s immunity fell due to over-fatigue.
According to Cristine, she experienced convulsion during the taping and she was rushed to the hospital. She was diagnosed of meningitis after examining the water from her spine. The actress stayed in the hospital for a month.
Cristine recalled that she had a close encounter with God when she was fighting against the disease. She asked God that she still wants to live. Then, she was “super weak” and she fought hard for her life for a week before she started to regain her strength.
The actress believe that it was God Who gave her the strength as she did not want to die. Her doctors told her that the body has its way to fight against the virus to live. The big challenge in her life took place in 2009.
