DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave a new statement on the possibility of running for vice president in 2022.

Many people are wondering who might the position of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte when he steps down in 2022 after his 6-year-term as the country’s Chief Executive ends. There are those calling for her daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, to take the presidential bid.

The Davao City Mayor previously denied intentions on running for president in 2022. However, her political party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, asked her to reconsider and think about it. She was given until July to make her decision.

According to the Davao City Mayor, both her parents are not in favor of the idea that she will run for president. She expressed that her father does not want her to go through all works while her mother will miss her if she will leave Davao.

While many are curious on who might run for president in 2022, a lot of people are also wondering whether or not Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte will run for another post in the government. His political party, the PDP-Laban, is urging him to run for vice president.

The 76-year-old Chief Executive previously expressed that he wants to retire from politics and just go home to Davao City after his term will end next year. As for his party, they want the President to reconsider his decision believing that he’ll be a huge help if he will still be a part of the government.

Recently, Pres. Duterte gave a new statement regarding the possibility of running for vice president in 2022. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the President said that at this time, the public should consider him as a candidate for vice presidency.

“Maybe at this time, you can say na, maybe, para to maintain the equilibrium sa lahat (for all), consider me as a candidate for the vice presidency at this time,” he expressed.
