QUARANTINE FOR VACCINATED TRAVELERS – The Philippine government changed the protocols for vaccinated travelers who are arriving in the country.

In the field of traveling, the biggest change brought by the COVID-19 pandemic is the quarantine protocol. Several countries implement mandatory quarantine for arriving travelers in the pursuit to arrest the spread of coronavirus. In the Philippines, there is a mandatory quarantine for the travelers arriving in the country.

The general mandatory quarantine implemented now is a 10-day facility-based quarantine. Travelers are also required to undergo a COVID-19 test. Previously, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) against COVID-19 expressed they are studying the possibility of making changes on the mandatory quarantine for vaccinated travelers arriving in the country.

Recently, the PH government has decided and made changes on the quarantine for vaccinated travelers arriving in the country. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the travelers covered by the changes are those who were vaccinated in the Philippines.

Travelers who were vaccinated in the Philippines are only required for a 7-day facility-based quarantine. Also, there is no need for them to undergo an RT-PCR test unless they show a symptom of COVID-19.

The changes in the mandatory facility-based quarantine only covers those who were vaccinated in the Philippines as the national government still does not have a way to authenticate the vaccination cards from other countries. Currently, the authorities are still discussing on how the effective ways to secure the authenticity of the vaccination cards from other countries.

Vaccination is ongoing in the Philippines now. Many healthcare workers are already fully-vaccinated as they are the prioritized for being the frontliners in the fight against the pandemic. The government continues to encourage the people to get vaccinated.
