Davao City Suspends BIR Region-19 Operations After Some Employees Test Positive for COVID-19
BIR Region 19 in Davao City has suspended their operations after some of their employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
On Tuesday (June 8, 2021), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Region 19 canceled several transactions after several personnel have tested positive for the coronavirus disease. The City Health Office did not give the exact number of infected individuals.
The City Health Office said that the infected individuals were assigned at agency’s Client Support Section. The infected employees were previously tasked to face clients for their transactions.
BIR XI explained that they need to suspend the operation in receiving and processing the Certificate of Registration (COR) for New Business Registrants (NBR) and issuance of Authority to Print (ATP).
The agency said that clients could just drop the necessary documents for the said application at the drop-box area placed outside the building. It is still unknown when the operation will resume.
Earlier, Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Marjorie Culas said that most government offices need to suspend some transactions after some personnel tested positive for the respiratory disease. Culas made the statement during the virtual presser of Department of Health XI.
