Ruby Rodriguez is open to the possibility of working in other networks
Seasoned comedienne and TV host Ruby Rodriguez revealed the Kapamilya stars she hopes to work with now that she is under Viva Artist Agency.
For three decades, Ruby has been part of the Kapuso noontime show Eat Bulaga. In a previous article, she revealed the reason why she was no longer seen hosting the show. She insisted that people should ask the management of the show if she was really terminated.
Ruby explained that she asked permission to have her leave of absence when the pandemic started but she was surprised that she did not receive a call when the show resumed the live airing.
Now that she is part of Viva as a comeback artist, Ruby Rodriguez said that she is looking forward to doing more acting stints, based on the article in The Philippine Star.
“So we decided to go back to Viva kasi ang Viva eh kumbaga, subok na matibay, subok na matatag. Saka nagtitiwala ako sa kanila kasi d’un ako nag-umpisa. Viva built my career in acting and the movies. It was really Viva that gave me the biggest break,” she shared.
The comedienne-host also shared that since she is a freelancer, even before signing a contract with Viva, she can accept projects from other networks.
“Wala naman akong contract. I’m a freelancer, actually. Nagkaro’n lang sila ng notion because I was hosting ‘Bulaga.’ But actually, hindi. Na-identify lang, but I can actually do anything and anywhere,” Ruby said.
She also shared that she would like to do projects with Kapamilya stars like Kathryn Bernardo, Anne Curtis, Gerald Anderson, Robin Padilla, and Piolo Pascual (who is being rumored to be a Kapuso soon).
Ruby Rodriguez, specifically mentioned John Lloyd Cruz, a former Kapamilya star who is set to have his TV comeback on GMA-7. “I’ve never worked with John Lloyd. I think he’s a very, very good actor and I respect him so much,” she said.
