Here’s what Ruby Rodriguez said when asked about her ‘Eat Bulaga’ exit

Actress-host Ruby Rodriguez finally gave her answer when she was asked if it was her decision to leave Eat Bulaga or if she was terminated.

She often answered this question with “ask them”. However, in a recent media conference as the new talent of Viva Artists Agency, Ruby has finally spoken about this matter.

The actress-host said, “Hindi ko alam kung pain ang word or disappointed, kasi siyempre I’ve been with you for 31 years and just like that. I mean, walang pagpapahalaga ba? I mean, yun ang naging question ko lang.”

She shared that in 2020, she first shared her plans to work in the States with Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna, her closest friends in the show. Ruby Rodriguez said that they weren’t able to make “paalam” to each other because in March of 2020 they are still airing live from the studio and suddenly, the lockdown was implemented.

“Tapos nung makausap ko si Boss Tony Tuviera [president and CEO ng TAPE, Inc.], hindi pa ako nagpa-file ng leave of absence. Verbal pa lang yung agreement namin. Ipa-file ko pa lang yung leave ng March 2020 kung aalis na ako. Hindi pa naman ako umaalis, bakit ako magpa-file ‘coz I’m going to file it a month before I leave,” she explained.

She also stressed that she did not leave, she asked permission to file leave of absence. “Ang sabi sa akin ni Mr. Tuviera, ‘You will always have a home here in Eat Bulaga.’ At siyempre, inasahan ko ‘yon. So, when they started to go on air, it’s their decision kung sinong pababalikin nila,” the actress-host revealed.

Apparently, she did not receive a call when the show started airing again. Ruby said that only the management of the show can directly answer if she is already terminated and she does not know yet their decision.

With regards if they take you out just like that, they just drop you like a hot potato, I think it’s them who can answer that,” she said.

Behind what happened to her hosting stint in Eat Bulaga, Ruby Rodriguez shared that this is a very humbling experience for her. This situation also strengthened her faith.
