Kim Jong-Un’s Government Bans Skinny Jeans, Certain Piercings & Mullet Haircuts in North Korea

The North Korea has banned the skinny jeans, some types of piercings and mullet haircuts as part of a crackdown by Kim Jong Un’s regime.

The North Korean government official newspaper Rodong Sinmun released an article expressing its concern after a lot of citizens have embraced the Western fashion trends.

Kim Jong Un’s government has prohibited the netizens to get the 15 “non-socialist” haircuts. The male North Koreans should only follow the “proper” hairstyles and avoid mullets, spiky, and dyed hair.

The news site “the Guardion” reported that the members of state-run youth organization would act as the “fashion police” in the country censuring foreign-looking attires.

Aside from certain hairstyles, skinny jeans, branded t-shirts, nose and lip piercings have been also banned. It aims to prevent the capitalistic culture from taking over the North’s tradition. “We must be wary of even the slightest sign of the capitalistic lifestyle and fight to get rid of them,” the newspapers states.

The new measure is a part of Kim Jong Un’s crackdown on “anti-socialist behavior.
