Pres. Duterte Speaks About COVID-19 Cases in PH
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte warned of imposing a “stricter” quarantine measure if the COVID-19 cases will spike again.
The COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines now requires a tougher defense line. That is why the national government continue to remind the people to observe the proper health protocols to fight the spread of the coronavirus disease.
The total cases of coronavirus recorded in PH has surpassed the 1-million mark. New variants of the said coronavirus disease have also been detected in the country. It is one of those that recorded that variant that was first logged in India.
Hospitals in India are facing a surge of COVID-19 patients to the point of shortage of oxygen and other facilities. Many countries including the Philippines set temporary restrictions on travelers from India.
In the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines which led to the total cases going beyond the 1-million mark, the national government placed the whole Metro Manila under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). The provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Rizal were also placed under the said measure for weeks.
The measure was downgraded to Modified ECQ after several days and, now, the NCR Plus is under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with “heightened” restrictions.
