PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (May 14)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Crising slightly weakened but 17 areas in Mindanao remain under signal no.1.
On Friday (May 14, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Crising would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.
Crising has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 75 kph. The weather disturbance has last spotted at the vicinity of Kapalong, Davao del Norte as of 4:00 am.
The tropical depression would bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental.

PAGASA has placed 17 areas in Mindanao region under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1:
- Southeastern part of Negros Oriental
- Siquijor
- Southern part of Surigao del Sur
- Central and southern parts of Agusan del Sur
- Northern and central parts of Davao Oriental
- Davao de Oro
- Davao del Norte
- Davao City
- Northern part of Cotabato
- Northern part of Maguindanao
- Lanao del Norte
- Lanao del Sur
- Misamis Occidental
- Bukidnon
- Central and western parts of Misamis Oriental
- Northeastern part of Zamboanga del Sur
- Northeastern part of Zamboanga del Norte
The weather agency also expects Crising to weaken within 24 hours but would continue to bring an inclement weather condition over some parts of the country.
The weather bureau also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible isolated flash flooding and rain-induced landslides during heavy or prolonged rainfall.
