PAGASA: LPA Found East of Davao City & ITCZ to Affect Mindanao

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (May 12)

The state weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area east of Davao City while the ITCZ would affect the weather condition in Mindanao.

On Wednesday (May 12, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that a low pressure area and the Intertropical Convergence Zone would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA said that the low-pressure area was last spotted 495 kilometers east of Davao City and it is embedded along with ITCZ affecting the weather condition in Mindanao. The LPA is unlikely to develop into a storm.

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The easterlies would bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers over entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro. Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as the remaining parts of the archipelago would be slight to moderate.
