MRT Management Searching For People May Have Witnessed Train Vandalism Incident
MRT management is currently looking for the people who may have witnessed the train vandalism incident.
On Thursday (May 13, 2021), the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) is already looking for possible witnesses regarding the vandalism of one of their trains last week. The incident forced line workers to remain on their stations.
MRT-3 officer-in-charge general manager Eymard Eje expressed his disappointment regarding the incident. He also lamented that people’s money are used to maintain and improve the train and employees who cleaned the vandal were already exhausted
“Nakakagalit kasi pare-pareho tayong stakeholders dito. Ang ginamit na pera dito sa pag-aayos ng MRT ay pera ng bayan. Nakakapanlumo kasi… pagod ang binuhos dito ng ating mga kasamahan, ‘yong mga naglilinis ng tren, security,” Eje Said.
The unidentified culprit reportedly break through the fence of the MRT track between the Magallanes and Taft Avenue stations, according to the investigation. The train has been stuck for moment while waiting for another train to move.

Eje said that the train employees did not notice that someone is spraying paint on the train. A concerned citizen informed the crews regarding the incident. The personnel have no choice but to work overtime to investigate.
“All CCTVs are being reviewed to identify the culprit. The train was removed for cleaning and repainting,” Transport Assistant Secretary for Communications Goddess Hope Libiran added.
