Vice Ganda talked about his ‘It’s Showtime’ stint
Vice is one of the hosts of the show who stayed longer. Basically, he is one of the vital elements of the show and the audience response before the COVID-19 pandemic can attest to that.
However, in a recent interview for his upcoming Gandemic: Vice Ganda, The VG-tal Concert, based on the article in the Philippine Star, the comedian-host revealed that there was an instance that he thought of taking a leave from the show.
It was during the time when the country was experiencing a surge in the COVID-19 cases. “Noong nagkaroon ng surge, mag beg off muna sana ko na hindi muna ko papasok (It’s Showtime) pero ‘pag ginawa ko ‘yun, hindi rin papasok ‘yung mga kasamahan ko. So ‘pag ginawa namin ‘yon, anong mangyayari sa programa?” he said.
Vice Ganda stressed that he really loves the show and if he came up with that decision, he thought of its effect to the entire It’s Showtime.
The Unkabogable Star also shared that every single day, all the staff members and the hosts are taking swab tests for everyone’s safety. It is one of the compromises they did in order to continue doing the show.
However, if he had no stint for the noontime show, Vice said that he is just staying at home as much as possible. “Pag walang Showtime hindi talaga ko lumalabas. Kaisa-isang beses na lumabas ako nagpunta ko sa Belo para siyempre maganda ako pagdating sa concert,” he said.
