Vice Ganda, a year after ABS-CBN shutdown: ‘Di sila lubos nagtagumpay’

Vice Ganda shared these recent fierce tweets for his home network

It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda pledged his support for Kapamilya, a year after the historical ABS-CBN shutdown that happened on May 5, 2020.

Today marks the first anniversary when ABS-CBN signed off and this made the hashtag “Ibalik Ang ABS-CBN]” trend on Twitter. The giant TV network was ordered to stop its broadcast on free channel frequency. That was the reason why it has resorted to digital and social media platforms.

Despite not airing on free TV, the Kapamily network continued to produce shows and eventually earned a partnership with Channel 11 and TV5.
