PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (May 10)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the heat index today could reach up to 38 degrees Celsius and people are advised to remain indoors.

On Monday (May 10, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather updates in the country. Some parts of the country might experience an extreme hot weather condition.

PAGASA weather forecaster Chris Perez reported that the heat index could soar to 38 degrees Celsius over Metro Manila and most parts of the Philippines. He also advised the public to stay hydrated and remain indoors if possible.

“As much as possible stay indoors kung wala pong mahalagang gagawin sa labas ng bahay Kung kailangan pong lumabas ng bahay, from time to time sumilong po at ugaliing uminom ng tubig to keep themselves hydrated,” Perez said.

The weather bureau said that the highest temperature is expected around noontime up to 3pm.

The easterlies would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan.

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers is expected over Bicol region.

The entire Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands would also experience the same weather condition.
