Teodoro Herbosa Leaves Post as UP Vice President After Tweeting “Death By ‘Community Pantry’ I Told You So!”

University of the Philippines Executive Vice President Teodoro Herbosa is also a special adviser to the National Task Force Against COVID-19. On Friday, April 13, he tweeted “death by community pantry” after a senior citizen named Rolando dela Cruz died while waiting for his turn to receive some goods from Angel Locsin’s community pantry in Quezon City.
His controversial Tweet received online backlash prompting him to make a public apology. He took to his Facebook account saying his post was “Ill-judged” and also revealed he filed a “leave of absence.”
On Sunday, April 25, the University of the Philippines (UP) announced that Teodoro Herbosa has resigned from the state university due to “personal reasons.” UP President Danillo L. Concepcion accepted Teodoro’s resignation.
“In your service as Executive Vice President, you have shown how vital this position can be to the governance of the University,” he wrote in his letter accepting Teodoro’s resignation.
Danillo L. Concepcion, however said, that “it is imperative that there be consistency and harmony in our relationship as administrators, as well as in our public pronouncements, given that we both represent the larger University community, its spirit, and its interests.”
Angel Locsin has apologized to Rolando dela Cruz’s family. In a Facebook post, she said she talked personally with his children and will ask for forgiveness for the rest of her life.
Just recently, showbiz personality Arnell Ignacio lambasted the actress after her birthday community pantry went controversial. He has some fiery words against Angel.
