Jason Abalos feels sorry for his decision last presidential election
Kapuso actor Jason Abalos apologized on his recent Twitter post for voting for President Rodrigo Duterte in the 2016 presidential elections.
To recall, this is not the first time that Jason expressed his dismay to the Chief Executive. Last year, the actor slammed the joke of Pres. Duterte when he said that gasoline should be put on a face mask in order to avoid COVID-19.
Jason stressed that this is not the time to joke, especially that he already lost a friend due to this fatal virus. Just recently, the actor once again aired his frustration towards the Philippine president.
“Isa ako sa mga bumoto dito. Patawarin nyo ako mga kababayan ko, ang gusto ko lang naman ay pag babago,” Jason Abalos wrote in his tweet on April 20. This included an article from an online news site regarding the statement of the President mentioning the West Philippine Sea, based on the report in Inquirer.
In Duterte’s public address on April 19, he said that it is still useless even if he and Secretary of National Defense Delfin Lorenzana will sail and ask questions to the Chinese.
“Sasagutin ka lang (They will just talk back), but you know the issue of the West Philippine Sea remains to be a question forever until such time that you know, we can take it back,” the President said.
However, based on the report, back in the 2016 presidential campaign Duterte expressed a different tone regarding this issue, “Bababa ako at sasakay ng jetski, dala dala ko ang flag ng Filipino at pupunta ako dun sa airport [ng China] tapos itanim ko. I will say, ‘This is ours and do what you want with me,’” he said during the “Pilipinas Debates” in April 2016.
Recalling, Jason Abalos is not the only celebrity who apologized for voting for Duterte in the last presidential elections. Reportedly, actress Angelica Panganiban also felt sorry for the same decision.
