Here’s what Angelica Panganiban said as she expressed regret when she endorsed Duterte.
ANGELICA PANGBANIBAN – Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban expressed regret endorsing President Duterte in 2016 national elections.
During the elections, politicians pay celebrities a hefty amount to endorse them as this is one way for them to be recalled by many people and the fan base of a certain artist can help them have more votes. And to recall, one of the endorsers of now President Rodrigo Duterte is the Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban.
And with the current happenings is the country as we combat the deadly and pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the actress expressed her regret endorsing the president. Writing her comment about Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto over supposed violation of Bayanihan Law, one netizen posted a previous post of her supporting the president her response went this way: “Yes. Nakakalungkot. Pero oo. Patawarin niyo ko.”
In her comment which earned this kind of comments, she stated there why do they have gang up on the young mayor when all that he has done was to give the best that he can in his capacities to the residents of his city. Her close friends Kim Chiu and Bela Padilla also expressed their disagreement over summon sent to Pasig mayor.
Meanwhile, many people on social media protest wanting to oust Duterte from office due to how he responds and handles the health crisis the country is currently facing. As of April 1 update, the country now has a total of 2,311 cases with 96 deaths and 50 recoveries.
