Iran Closes Strait of Hormuz Again Shortly After It Reopened the Waterway

Update on Ongoing War Between Iran & United States, Israel

IRAN – The Iranian military has once again closed the Strait of Hormuz just a few hours after it reopened it and commercial ships passed.

Tehran first closed the Strait of Hormuz following the airstrikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran. Several Iranians including Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were killed in the said attack.

The restrictions of in the passage in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for international oil shipments, have immediately disrupted the global oil shipping. There were reports that Iranian gunboats allegedly fired on vessels that attempted to pass the Strait.

U.S. Pres. Donald Trump has issued several warnings against Iran over the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. He even threatened to wipe out the entire civilization of Iran. They previously agreed into a 2-week ceasefire.

Recently, Iran has once again closed the Strait of Hormuz. It stressed the United States port blockades and the maritime security concerns as the reasons behind its moves. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, oil tankers have to reportedly reversed their course.

According to Iranian officials, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz will remain until the United States lifts its blockade of the Iranian ports. The said blockage has resulted to the inability of Iran to export goods affecting its economy.

Based on the report, in response to the U.S. blockade, Iran made an announcement of “strict management” of the Strait. There were reports that Iranian gunboats fired at least one merchant vessel that attempted to cross the waterway.

The recent development came a day after United States Pres. Donald Trump expressed optimism that a peace deal with Iran is allegedly close. Following the closure in the Strait of Hormuz, doubts once again surround the negotiations. Previously, shortly after U.S. and Iran agreed on a 2-week ceasefire, American Vice Pres. JD Vance announced that the United States and Iran’s 21-Hour peace talk failed to get to agreement
