Severe Tropical Storm Bising Turns Into Typhoon After Entering PAR, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA said that the severe tropical storm Bising has intensified into a typhoon after entering PAR.

On Friday (April 16, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest update about severe tropical storm Bising after entering the country’s vicinity.

PAGASA announced that the severe tropical storm Bising has intensified into a typhoon at 8 am today. It is expected to intensify over the next three days but not expected to make a landfall in any part of the country.

Bising’s center has been last located 960 kilometers east of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte. The typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph moving 15 kph at a west northwestward direction.

The weather disturbance is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rains over some parts of Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao would experience rough to very rough seas with waters can reach up to 4.5 meters high in the next 24 hours.
